The document, published yesterday (23 May), follows on from a Countryside Agency study that found most young people were keen to take part in outdoor activities once they had been given a taste of what was on offer. But they faced barriers to making better use of the outdoors, such as transport costs.
The Diversity Review Action Plan consultation document acknowledges these problems, and notes that funding will be required to overcome them.
The final action plan is expected to be launched next year.
