YES - Hilary Fisher, director, Campaign to End Child Poverty
Enshrining its promise to end child poverty in legislation is a bold and historic move by the government. This is a commitment to help ensure that future generations of children can reach their full potential, live without fear of social exclusion and lead healthy lives through to adulthood and we are very happy about this.
However, 2020 is a long way off and the government will fail to keep its promise of ending child poverty if it does not commit £3bn in tax credits and benefits in the next Budget.
YES - Claire Walker, spokeswoman on poverty, Save the Children UK
