For about 20 minutes the visibly pregnant 17-year-old was verbally abused and threatened with CS gas.

"She was shouting 'I don't like coloured or black people' and that I should go back where I came from," Cherelle told the local evening newspaper.

"Then she came right up to my face. She was swinging her handbag around at one point and reached into it saying she had CS spray and was going to use it on me. She said she would hit and spray me even though I was pregnant."

The event left Cherelle feeling sick and low. "I didn't think racism like that existed in Kettering but now I think differently," she said.
