None of this has worked. In fact, it may have made things worse. Along with the high cost of insurance, it has forced many young people off the roads. But the ones who do drive are killing themselves in greater numbers.

Fresh proposals will be coming up. Will they include funding for motoring projects with young people? Don't hold your breath.

The head of a school in Derbyshire made a statement, reported by the Ashbourne News Telegraph: "An unpleasant, unfortunate incident took place on school property involving two members of the public." Sounds horrid.
