Opinion: If I were in charge of the police - Lewis Penwarden, 14,Nottingham

1 min read
It would be great to be in charge of the police. If I was in charge of the police I would make them not arrest people for what they have not done. I also wouldn't have them sending people down for things like petty thieving; instead they would look out for all the perverts.

They would go out to arrest the perverts and the nonces because theyshould be locked up.

Instead of going to prison the petty thieves would be watched daily bythe police but if they do petty thieving more than once they would thenbe arrested.

I would also get rid of uniforms and have the police wearing normalclothes if I was in charge. It would make the police harder to spot andthat means they will be able to catch more people without them knowingthey are there. They'll all be undercover because that way they wouldcatch more people.

The police talk to us like we're animals and so I would change the waythey talk to us as well as stopping them getting kids in prison forpetty crime.
