Opinion: If I were in charge of music lessons - Abigail Evans, 7, West Dulwich, London

1 min read
I would give the children a surprise: every month a teacher that teaches a different kind of instrument would come in. I think it would be good because then they would learn different instruments. At the moment we only learn one instrument a year. At the moment we are learning to play the triangle and we do some singing.

I would like the teachers to teach piano, flute, trombone and trumpet.

At the beginning it would be really noisy, but when they got used to it they could do it in tune so they wouldn't do it as loud.

I think it's important for the kids to learn to work together so they can become a bit of a band.

I would like to form lots of little bands - or just one ginormous big one.

We do put on shows, but we never put on musicals. I would like to put on Peter Pan.

I would put on a musical at the end of every month. It does sound like quite a lot of hard work. To make sure the other children didn't think it was too much work I would try and make it fun for them - for example, make them really good costumes.
