Opinion: If I were in charge of ... hospitals - Danielle Proudfoot, 13, Chorley

1 min read
If I were in charge of my hospital I would get two scanners because there's always a queue. The next person could go to the other one so when they come out another person could go instead of waiting all day at the hospital.

When I first went on the scanner it was a bit scary because it's really noisy. The little babies have to be sedated when they go on it. But I'm used to it now. I've been going for the last 16 months.

I still have a wound on my head after my brain tumour and have scans and everything.

I'm riding my bike from Manchester Royal Hospital to Blackpool to raise money to get another scanner for our hospital. The new one is faster and there's no noise.

The journey will be 58 miles. When I get to Blackpool I'm going to go out collecting. I'm hoping to raise 1,000.
