Opinion: If I were in charge of ... Breakfast clubs - ConnorSummerwill, 8, Swansea

Some people think that money spent on breakfast clubs should be spent on hospitals or other important things. I would say that everyone should know more about breakfast clubs and see how good they are. First, there is the meal. Not just any food but a healthy proper breakfast like cereal, fruit juice, milk and toast and they are all healthy foods. Second, there are caring adults to look after us so we are safe. Third, older children mix with younger children and play with them and help them. Fourth, there are activities for us to do, so we are not bored and we can chat to our friends and play games. Fifth, the start of the school day is better because we have had a good breakfast and are ready to go.

My teacher said that it does cost money, but not a huge amount. She saida little bit spent on a breakfast club goes a long way. I think peoplewho don't agree with breakfast clubs should have a try and see forthemselves, They may enjoy it and might even put their own children inthe breakfast club. I think they would change their minds and see howgood it is. They should take a look at the children who go to breakfastclub and see how healthy they are.
