OPINION: HOT ISSUE - Should youth projects take sponsorship frombusiness?

3 mins read

YES - Eirian Evans, county youth officer, Pembrokeshire County Council

I think it's a good thing. If it gives a positive image for the business, then there is no problem. If young people can associate with the business, then it can give more kudos to the project. For young people, if a project has a label, they might be attracted. Young people like labels.

I don't have a problem with corporate sponsorship, but it has to be monitored.

For example, we would be against cigarette advertising. If sponsorship is for facilities that cannot otherwise be accessed, then it's a good thing. It's a way of life.
