Krash contributor DA Smith presents an unorthodox view of bullying, terrorism and crime in the latest issue. In his opinion piece about people who communicate using "the language of fear", Smith likens "gangs of mindless yobs and violent youths" to animals. Society's problems can be solved if young people campaign for harsher punishments for criminals and the abandonment of a mollycoddling state, according to Smith. This will, he argues, help create a peaceful nation.
Young journalists writing in Exposure magazine paint a different picture of the youth of today. They asked teenagers about their experiences of prejudice. Ololade Oyatoye, 15, is fed up with the tabloid representation of young people as being hoodies and chavs, and says this "unconstructive representation" encourages society to hate youths.
