Aim To get those who have offended into education, training or employment
A project aimed at getting young people who have offended into education, training or employment has scooped a prestigious award.
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council's youth offending team (YOT) received the North West Regional Equality and Diversity Award after developing a number of innovative ways to engage young offenders in education and training.
The YOT has been working hard to tailor interventions to each young person's needs. It has also developed a training course called Cogs (Choices, Opportunities, Goals and Support) to help young people prepare for the world of work, by teaching them skills and building confidence.
