The news comes amid continuing concerns in the play sector over the watchdog's interpretation of how playwork meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
A spokeswoman for Ofsted said: "We are working with the play sector to identify particular areas where playworkers have identified difficulties with the EYFS so that we can produce a fact sheet explaining how we will inspect those aspects."
Ofsted has been accused of inconsistent inspections of play provision, while playworkers have admitted they are struggling to marry their own professional principles with the new early years curriculum. The factsheet is due to be published in the autumn.
