NYA Update: Hear by Right in Museums

Hear by Right can help ensure compliance and best practice on the safe, sound and sustainable participation of children and young people in museums, as illustrated in this new briefing.

It is primarily for strategic leads and executive managers and draws on successful examples of using Hear by Right - the participation framework for young people from the National Youth Agency - at strategic and operational levels. It explores the requirement for museums to involve children and young people, the benefits of participation, how to embed and improve participation and top tips for using the Hear by Right framework.

Museums will benefit from an improvement in services and policies if these are designed, delivered and evaluated on the identified, rather than presumed, needs and interests of young people. It is available as a free download from the National Youth Agency website at www.nya.org.uk.
