NYA to help assess quality

Youth Work
A set of national standards for youth services is being piloted to help local authorities assess how well they are meeting the needs of young people.

The National Youth Agency (NYA) has developed a self-assessment tool and a Quality Mark for Integrated Youth Support Services, funded by the Local Government Association.

A final document will be launched in April or May. The NYA's national programme manager Sue Quinn said the standards will help to integrate work, but will not compensate for a lack of youth service inspections.
