Nursery nurses: Islington caught up in strike dispute

Calls for national pay negotiations for local authority-employed nursery nurses are growing following local disputes over job grading and pay.

Islington is the latest council to become embroiled in a strikedispute.

Workers at the council's nine early years centres and three nurseryschools are threatening industrial action because they claim the councilhas gone back on a deal to upgrade jobs.
