NORTHERN IRELAND: LSDA branches out to Northern Ireland

The agency operates in England and Wales, providing services for further education and adult learning.

Its work in Northern Ireland will include developing vocational qualifications for 16 to 19-year-olds. It will focus on widening access and increasing participation in learning.

Trevor Carson, formerly FE development officer with Belfast Education and Library Board, and curriculum development officer at the Association of Northern Ireland Colleges, has been appointed director.

The agency will have an official launch in September.
