Northern Ireland: Commissioner starts youth rights study

The study, launched last week by Queen's University Belfast and the Northern Ireland children's commissioner, examined the extent to which services had complied with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

More than 1,000 young people were interviewed during the course of the nine-month study, as well as staff and policymakers. The report also found a need to outlaw physical punishment, to tackle religious segregation in schools and a need for more multidisciplinary training.
