A Catch22 spokesman said discussions had reached a "natural conclusion",but the organisation was still committed to working with CfYP andothers.
CYP Now reported earlier this month that CfYP was holding mergerdiscussions following the resignation of its chief executive, TonyBennett.
"The board has agreed that Clubs for Young People will continue tooperate as a smaller, independent organisation," said chief operatingofficer Helen Marshall. "As such, it is able to meet its strategicobjectives and this provides us with an opportunity to develop ourservices in the way we planned."
The two organisations said they would continue to work together,particularly on delivery of the National Citizen Service scheme.
