A sex education programme that claims to reduce sexual activity in young people by six per cent is likely to be expanded after a favourable independent assessment. Apause, which has been developed by Exeter University, has been piloted in 104 schools. The programme, which is part-funded by the university's Department of Child Health, teaches teenagers to delay intercourse.
