The Department for Education and Skills has asked local Connexions partnerships not to make changes to the support offered to young people, despite reports suggesting that they face cuts of 35m. "From 1 April they won't be able to claim VAT. But Connexions partnerships have always known that VAT relief was a short-term measure," said a department spokeswoman.
