
Hilary Emery, who has taken over from Sir Paul Ennals, said the review would lead to a corporate strategy published in draft form before Christmas. "The review is absolutely driven by reduced funding. We have to work in a different way," said Emery, in her first interview since joining NCB on 1 August.
The charity now receives about half the £25m enjoyed by the end of the Labour administration, she said. Much of the fall is down to diminished funds from government, for which it had previously delivered several national programmes. The review, comprising all staff, networks and forums, will aim to refocus NCB's priorities. The organisation will, however, retain its focus on identifying the needs of vulnerable children and championing young people's participation.
