Neuro-linguistic Programming: The deck of cards

3 mins read

"When I started at university, I was all over the place," says Sabina Hussain, 20, a law student at the University of Manchester. "It was such a huge jump from college to university and I was struggling with the assignments."

Daunted by a mountain of work, Sabina didn't know how she would cope.

Then Connexions Oldham gave her a deck of cards and introduced her to neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).

These 15 "power cards" , which don't have a spade or a club in sight, are a joint initiative between Connexions Oldham and artist Gary King that aim to help young people achieve their goals. The first five focus on planning, the middle five on achieving and the final five on reflecting about lessons that can be taken on into the future.
