NCB Now: Young people report to inspectors

1 min read
A project being run by NCB and the National Youth Agency (NYA) will ensure that children and young people have their say on service inspections.

Education watchdog Ofsted has commissioned NCB and the NYA to consult under-18s on how they view inspections of services for children and young people, in line with the five key outcomes identified in Every Child Matters.

In order to gather a wide range of views NCB and the NYA will be holding three main consultation events, each involving up to 60 children and young people, in southwest England, Durham and Leicester.

The consultation groups will talk about the most effective way for inspectors to hear and respond to their views on where they live and the specific services they use. The children and young people will also be asked how inspectors can best involve them in their work and how they would like inspection findings to be reported to them.
