The Department for Education and Skills asked Young NCB, a free networkfor children and young people under 18, to consult with young peopleabout how diversity issues are being covered in the national curriculumand whether modern British cultural and social history should be addedto citizenship education. On Friday 2 June, a group of 11 young peopleaged 11 to 16 from all over England came together to discuss theseissues and have their say at the NCB offices in London.
The focus group day was interactive, with a mix of games, activities andchances for the young people to express their views. Young NCB memberAndrew Dwyer, aged 14, said: "I think that the day was reallyinformative and I got my ideas and thoughts across easily and indifferent ways. I thought it was really exciting."
