Children in Scotland launches manifesto

Children in Scotland launched its manifesto, Better Lives for Scotland'sChildren and Young People, at a special event held at the ScottishParliament on 28 June. The manifesto sets out the organisation's visionfor the future of Scotland's children and young people in the run-up tothe 2007 Scottish elections.

Among other recommendations, it calls for child health to be made apriority, focusing specifically on obesity, mental and sexual health andan entitlement to free, nutritious school meals for all primary andpre-school children.

Robin Harper, co-convenor of the Scottish Green Party, said: "TheScottish Green Party welcomes the manifesto and its assertion of therights and views of Scotland's children."
