The pack is aimed at parent partnership services, which provideimpartial advice, information and support to parents of children withSEN. Many of these services train volunteers as independent parentalsupporters to provide individual assistance to families.
The pack consists of a trainer's guide and a CD-Rom of trainingmaterials, which are divided into 17 modules. It was developed with thesupport of the Department for Education and Skills and the NationalParent Partnership Network, based at NCB.
"The training pack will help ensure parental supporters are able toprovide families with the best possible service," said Daisy Russell'senior development officer of the National Parent PartnershipNetwork.
"Many parents are unaware of the support that parent partnershipservices can offer them, from preparing for and attending meetings tofilling in forms.'
