NCB Now: The challenges of a changing environment

The re-organisation of children's services and the emergence of new children's trust arrangements pose a significant challenge to local voluntary and community sector networks.

Local networks play a central role in supporting the sector's engagement with local authorities, and they must actively and effectively respond to changes.

While there are a wide variety of training opportunities which can help voluntary and community sector networks to overcome the challenges of a changing environment, how do networks know which training would be most beneficial? Furthermore, how do they ensure that learning is used to develop the network as a whole rather than individuals?

VCS Engage has commissioned NCVYS to develop the Momentum project. The project aims to help networks adopt a more strategic approach to learning and development, resulting in the capacity to not only respond to new developments, but to help lead them.
