Winner of the 12 to 18 category, 15-year-old Rebecca Cadman fromCloughside School in Prestwich, Manchester created a poster featuring achalk board with thought provoking statements on bullying and theimportance of reporting it. The under-11s category was won by 10 yearold Tom Langley who adopted a recycling approach - converting bulliesinto friends.

With more than 1,000 entries the competition was tight and judges feltthat they couldn't just pick two, so a special award was given toChristine Postlewhite of Greenbank Residential School in Northwich,Cheshire.

Simon Blake, Anti-Bullying Alliance manager, said: "We're absolutelydelighted that so many schools took part in the competition. The numberof entries demonstrates that schools are taking the issue of bullyingseriously and are working hard to prevent it. The posters alsodemonstrated the creativity of children and young people and theirdesire to make bullying a thing of the past. We hope schools will buildon this work by participating fully in Anti-Bullying Week 2006."

Clare Rix, Trutex marketing director, said: "We've been astounded by thenumber and standard of entries from children of all ages. We hope thatthe competition has helped to raise awareness of the damage bullying cancause and the help that is available for all those who are affected byit."
