A new two-year project, which is set to be carried out by the Council for Disabled Children, based at NCB, aims to address this challenge.
The project, Delivering diversity: widening opportunities for Black and minority ethnic disabled children, has been funded by DfES.
"There is plenty of good practice in this area, but it is often concentrated in specific communities," said Christine Lenehan, director of the Council for Disabled Children.
"Our aim is to map that good practice and ensure that a wider range of disabled children and families can benefit from its messages."
