NCB Now: News from Wales - Supporting bereaved children in custody

Young people who have been bereaved are over-represented in the criminal justice system. Some identify early bereavement as a key turning point in their lives while others are affected by death while in custody.

Children in Wales, in partnership with the Childhood Bereavement Network at NCB and the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, is organising a one-day seminar on supporting bereaved young people in custody on 28 May in Cardiff. The seminar will explore the experiences of bereaved young people in custody and promote practical approaches to meeting their needs. It should be of interest to anyone involved in promoting children's wellbeing in secure settings.
