Children in Scotland members will play a key role in the ScottishExecutive's consultation on proposals for improving children'sservices.
Getting it Right for Every Child - Proposals for Action outlines plansto improve the delivery of children's services in Scotland, strengthenand support the Scottish children's hearings system, and increase publicconfidence.
Children in Scotland has organised a consultation event for members onthe proposals that will include a presentation on the key issues fromAlan Miller, consultant in child law and youth justice and formerprincipal reporter of the Scottish children's hearings system.
Members' views gathered at the event on 10 August in Glasgow, willinform Children in Scotland's consultation response.

CHILD POVERTY IN WALES - MUCH TO BE DONE
The End Child Poverty Network Cymru, which is co-ordinated by Childrenin Wales, and Child Poverty Action Group, are holding a conference inNewport on 17 October to mark the United Nations Eradication of PovertyDay.
Key speakers will include Professor Dave Gordon, director of theTownsend Centre for International Poverty Research and Huw Lewis, deputyminister for social justice.
The event, chaired by Sara Reid, assistant children's commissioner forWales, aims to review progress on reducing child poverty in Wales andhighlight good practice. There will also be a series of interactiveworkshops.
