As part of a programme exploring children's sector workforce development in Scotland, Children in Scotland is publishing a series of newsletters. Issue 4: Working it Out: Help Shape the Future of Scotland's Children's Sector Workforce looks at the programme so far and current issues and debates.
The newsletter covers the implications of the Curriculum for Excellence on the workforce, and how the General Teaching Council for Scotland aims to develop its role as education broadens. There is a look at the relationship between schools and out-of-school care, the role of playgroups, and the advantages of a flexible approach to qualifications for the playgroup workforce.
