NCB Now: NCB policy - Success and goals

2 mins read
NCB is now revising its public policy priorities for 2008/9. This involves reviewing the progress that was made on its six key issues in 2007/8 and identifying forthcoming opportunities for highlighting its key policy messages.

Every year, NCB identifies up to six key issues for children and young people that will be prioritised in policy work with the government. These public policy priorities are chosen to represent the breadth of NCB's policy activity, drawing on learning from research and practice development. Future opportunities - such as new legislation, government or independent reviews and the wider political climate - are also taken into account.

Looking back - reviewing progress

Priority areas for 2007/8 were: childhood bereavement; transport; wellbeing in schools; looked-after children; the welfare/justice divide; and play. We have seen a number of developments against these priorities as a result of the work done by NCB and its partners across the sector.
