NCB Now: Member focus - Wellchild

Our best practice: A one-stop-shop for child health enquiries for three years.

WellChild Helpline has been providing a confidential enquiry service foranyone with a question about children's health. Most enquirers wereparents, carers and children and young people wanting to discuss anexisting health problem. But who can answer "theoretical" questionsabout a child's health, from people who aren't necessarily caring for achild, such as researchers, students, education and social careprofessionals and the general public?

The helpline has now merged with WellChild's Information Service. Thecombined service now boasts a multidisciplinary team of health andinformation professionals, able to answer any enquiries relating to allaspects of children's health.

Bernice de Braal, WellChild's information and policy manager, said:"We're now attracting a wider range of callers from all professionalbackgrounds. In our recent user feedback survey, 100 per cent ofrespondents rated the service as "good" or "excellent".
