Sexual health charity FPA is working in partnership with Centrepoint and other youth homelessness organisations to increase the sexual health knowledge of homeless young people aged 16 to 25 in pilot projects in London and the north-east.
Working with homeless young people, FPA's new project aims to improve knowledge of sexual health and access to services for this vulnerable group. Young people can choose from 12 accredited modules covering topics such as rights and empowerment, substance misuse and sexual behaviour, pleasure, self-esteem, assertiveness, contraception, sexually transmitted infections and sexual health services. Each session lasts up to two hours and can be delivered to groups or one-to-one. The project is flexible to be able to reach transient groups of young people. It will work with refugees and asylum seekers, single parents, care leavers, ex-offenders and other vulnerable young people.
