NCB Now: Hospitals and social service interface

NCB has secured funding from the Department of Health for a project aimed at improving practice between hospitals and social services when working with children in need.

A number of recent inquiries have highlighted the need to work together to take responsibility for safeguarding children, yet the interface between the two remains unclear.

Over a one-year period, NCB will work with a number of hospitals and social services departments to map arrangements and highlight good practice.

The findings will help hospitals and social services to implement changes required by the Laming report and the National Service Framework for Children.
