There is a genuine debate to be had about revising certain aspects of the framework and the forthcoming EYFS review should provide that opportunity. NCB wants to ensure that the review is also informed by the views of parents and, as such, has been working with Netmums to survey its members on their experiences of early years settings.
As part of its work to promote the importance of early years services, NCB's Early Childhood Unit is putting together an EYFS resource bank to support everyone with an interest in early years services, particularly workers and parents.
The resource bank will offer a chance to showcase early years work or experience, particularly in relation to practice improvements. It will include case studies to help illustrate the key principles within the EYFS, including working with parents, the six areas of learning, listening to young children, safeguarding, play and specifically outdoor play, "key person", equality, assessment and profile.
