NCB Now: Children's mental health coalition

1 min read
NCB is part of a coalition of organisations that plans to improve the mental health of young people up to the age of 25.

The Children and Young People's Mental Health Coalition, which was launched at the House of Lords on 29 March, comprises organisations concerned about the high level of emotional distress experienced by children living in the UK.

The coalition aims to influence policy on a range of issues that affect children and young people's mental health. In its first year, the coalition will focus on four key areas: the early years — equipping parents with the knowledge to improve their children's wellbeing; building emotional resilience — helping children meet the challenges of growing up; reaching adulthood — ensuring adequate provision of care for those entering adulthood; and a focus on seldom heard voices - helping ensure that minority groups are able to access support from services.
