Because it knows difference - either real or perceived - and prejudice lie at the heart of most bullying, the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) has chosen the theme of Being Different, Belonging Together for this year's Anti-Bullying Week (17 to 21 November).
ABA, along with its 60 member organisations, is encouraging schools, local authorities and the wider community to use this theme to celebrate both diversity and the things that bind us together. The theme also supports the embedding of the government's Safe to Learn guidance and the new proposed duty on schools to record incidents of bullying.
The ABA briefing pack, which was sent to every school in England, develops this theme and includes resources to support the whole school community to take part in Anti-Bullying Week 2008.
