NATIONAL YOUTH AGENCY: Practice makes perfect

1 min read

The seminar, the first of three practical training workshops scheduled for this summer, attracted 23 detached youth workers from across the UK and was led by Vanessa Rogers (above, centre). Vanessa, a qualified teacher, youth worker and author, updated delegates on current legislation, Connexions and the risk factors linked with detached youth work. This was followed by a group exercise to develop a multi-agency approach to a range of specified examples. One delegate commented: "It has been great to meet people in a similar role to me and to learn of good examples of detached youth work." For details of upcoming workshops, including 'Citizenship' and 'Working with Young Men', please contact Sara Dickinson on 0116 285 3708.
