National Youth Agency: Great expectations for detached workers conference

1 min read
The Federation for Detached Youth Work is calling for contributors to its annual conference, which takes place in Stafford between 12 and 14 November this year.

The conference title is Great Expectations: The place of detached youth work in the future. As detached youth work becomes centre-stage in a variety of social policy agendas, the debate continues within the organisation as to whether this constitutes real "opportunity". Will the rolling out of Integrated Services spell the marginalisation of this distinctive form of practice or will detached youth work step forward and lead a more progressive agenda?

The Federation for Detached Youth Work hopes to build upon the positivity of last year's successful conference by inviting participation in a debate framed around the critical question: "What is the place of detached youth work in the future?"
