My Life: Olu Oyewobi, 15, London

1 min read Education
A few years ago, I became involved in a programme called Sky Living For Sport. I was introduced to Rob Hardwick, who used to play rugby for England. Rob is an athlete mentor with Sky Living For Sport, and came to visit our school to tell us how he had become a rugby player.

I could relate to Rob because, like me, he was not a great student at school but through his ability to play rugby he kept out of trouble and achieved his dream of playing for England.

Through Sky Living For Sport I have had the opportunity to work with pupils at local primary schools, coaching football, refereeing and conducting fitness tests. I really enjoyed the responsibility I was given.

Sky Living For Sport has made me more focused and I hope to achieve an A grade in my PE BTEC instead of the D grade I was predicted. I want to continue to work hard and take my athletics further. My dream is to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games.
