Music fund backs football project

A community football project has received a funding boost after the charitable arm of the British recording industry's trade body pledged new cash.

The Kickz programme gives 12- to 18-year-olds the opportunity to takepart in positive activities at their local professional football club.The money has come from the BRIT Trust, part of the BPI, allowing thoseon the Kickz project to also take part in music projects.

Geoff Taylor, chief executive of the BPI, said: "We're delighted to workwith Kickz and the Football Foundation to give young people indisadvantaged communities access to better facilities, equipment andmentoring, and to discover the positive role that music can play intheir lives."
