A group of young people in Pembroke who were asked to give their opinions of museums in a video project called Don't Do Museums? seemed to back this up. The group failed to see what was interesting in row after row of glass cases, and in particular rocks in glass cases, suggesting that there should be a dedicated "rock museum", so all those interested in geology could go there and everyone else would not have to look at them.
They also criticised "do not touch" signs, a lack of theming and bad attitudes from employees. It was suggested that museums avoid restrictions, use replicas or allow visitors to touch the real thing and have bright decor to make them less daunting.
