Mental health: Services unite to call for integration

Local government, social care and health services have united behind a policy paper that calls for mental health services to be integrated with schools.

The Future of Mental Health: A Vision for 2015, published by theSainsbury Centre for Mental Health, sets out a vision for how mentalhealth services could realistically be improved by 2015. Among theproposals are adding emotional health to the school curriculum andestablishing mental health services in a range of settings includinglibraries.

The Local Government Association, NHS Confederation and the Associationof Directors of Social Services co-published the paper.
