Gone are the days when young people's mental health was just something for doctors to consider. Now workers from a range of sectors must consider the mental health implications of what they do. Professionals such as youth workers, Connexions personal advisers, youth offending teams and teachers are on the front line of ensuring the emotional health and wellbeing of young people.

In recognition of this, Young People Now's Emotional Health and Wellbeing of Young People conference on 25 January 2006 considers the latest developments in the mental health field, as well as looking at how professionals can provide accessible services to adolescents.
