Nearly a third of the 86 children surveyed by Roger Morgan, thechildren's rights director at the Commission for Social Care Inspection'said decisions about changing placements and moving from one home toanother are some of the most important made in their lives. But exactlyhow much input they had varied from child to child and only half thechildren surveyed had a choice when their present placement was beingdecided on.
"A common message from children is that when they're being moved, thereshould be a choice of at least two alternative suitable placements andthe child should have a real say in the choice between them," thePlacements, Decisions and Reviews report said.
