London club opens its 7,000 kitchen

A London youth club opened its new kitchen last month after being awarded nearly 7,000 from Westminster City Council's youth capital fund.

CityWest Homes' Churchill Gardens Youth Club used the money to refurbish its kitchen, which is used by children and young people.

The club will use the kitchen to offer cookery lessons as well as basic health and safety, food hygiene classes and healthy eating workshops.

Sophie Moore, 15, who successfully bid for the funding, said: "It's great to have had the kitchen upgraded and redesigned. We now have much more space in which we can develop our cookery skills and learn how to make healthy recipes."
