Lincolnshire wins cash for building

Young people in West Lindsey in Lincolnshire are to benefit from a 623,700 youth facility offering alternative education services during the day and a chill-out space in the evening.

The local district council received the grant from the government's Community Assets programme to refurbish a recently vacated building on Bridge Street, Scampton.

The Young and Safe in Gainsborough project will run a vocational education programme for young people who find it difficult to progress in mainstream school. This will include a training kitchen that links to a youth coffee bar. The grant is funded by the Office of the Third Sector via the Big Lottery Fund.
