For 50 years, Action for Sick Children has been campaigning with great success to have services for children and young people not only fit for purpose, but age-related with appropriate environmental and emotional needs taken into account.
Your article ‘Child health professionals air their opposition to NHS reforms’ (CYP Now 6-19 March) is illuminating and thought-provoking. As far as children are concerned, the new Health and Social Care Bill is very confusing, not only for professionals, but also many others wishing to have health services to be of the highest quality.
We strongly support Professor Terence Stephenson in saying: "We believe that all healthcare professionals now need to be brought together to thrash out how the areas of agreement can be put into practice. Consensus on reform is possible even if consensus on the bill is not."
